Hang Em High and Wide

Another quick how-to for you guys! This is a super easy way to give your space a more refined look. I use this technique every single time, and it has never steered me wrong. Now this may come across a little harsh, but it’s only because I love you. It’s not you it’s me. Ok, here it is:

I want you to stop hanging your curtains at window height.  Stop it right now.

Now that we got that off our chests, let’s get back to the lovin. Hanging your window treatments just several inches higher and wider than your window sill creates a grand feel and better showcases the architectural details of the window. For an even more dramatic look, hang them ceiling height. That means that you will probably be looking for a standard drape length of 96 inches or more (Note: most manufactures start at 84 inches, which is almost always too short! Err on the side of too long, and hem if you need to). Take a look at the graphic below for guidance and give it a try in your home. You will be surprised by how much of an impact you create by updating!
